In general what is happening here is BT is partnerins the old 121media adware/spyware rootkit to generate more money by scanning all the websites we visit. Harvest keywords then target adverts to us from companies who use their OIX platform.
This is an interception of you internet browsing to divert you 4 times forging cookies, pretending to be the website you want then allowing you to arrive at the website you requested. In 2006 and 2007 BT did actually carry out secret trials on customers without asking for their permission or asking the websites visited permission.
Loggin, proccessing and supplying adverts to the unsuspecting customers, any that spotted the diversion in the browser were not told what was happening. In one case the business man was told he had spyeware on his pc’s. This guy went out and bought new PC’s as he couldn’t find it to remove it. BT could have explained to him not send him away to worry about his privacy, his business, bank details etc. This company now wants to add servers into BT’s network which customers will go through regardless of opting in or out. It is like filling in your bank details with someone sat at side of you or more asking the person behind the till to put in the pin numbe for your card as you say them.
to find out more about this you realy need to read up don’t trust what Kent or BT actually say as all through they have quoted people out of context only quoting the good avoiding the main issues.
